Call for Proposals ~ Learner Development SIG Forum JALTCALL2012

Updated 16 February 2012

The JALT LD-SIG is inviting proposals for short paper presentations to be made at the JALTCALL Conference 2012. JALTCALL 2012 will be held at the Konan CUBE, Hirao School of Management, Konan University from June 1-3, 2012. Further details of the conference itself will be available at the:

JALTCALL 2012 home page

From self-access centres with cassette libraries to m-learning, technology has played an important role in learner autonomy in language education. However, CALL activities are not intrinsically autonomous and Learner Autonomy need not make use of educational technologies. In this forum, we will explore CALL as viewed through the prism of learner autonomy, and vice versa, in an attempt to find common ground.

We welcome research papers, descriptions of classroom practice or review discussions. Each presenter will give his / her fifteen minute presentation twice (including questions) within the ninety minute slot, also having time to circulate and see the other presenters work. If you are interested, please submit your proposal online, or contact JALTCALL LD-SIG liaison Darren Elliott at darrenrelliott AT MARK gmail.com by 31 March 2012..
