Hi,
"Kokusai Koryu Kikin" (their research group consising of Japanese as a second langauge teachers) published a report on CEFR and ELP a few years ago. The report is about Japanese language education in Europe but covers a lot of CEFR and ELP policies and guidelines.

The seminar sounds interesting. Fergus, I'll send you an email later - after I check my schedule.

I have a feeling that the European Language Portfolio was already translated into Japanese in Trinity College Dublin some years ago.

Hi everyoneI'd like to draw your attention to an event in Osaka on March 14th and 15th about Portfolio Assessment. Fergus O'Dwyer has formed a group with the aim of adapting the European Language Portfolio Framework, for use in Japan, and translating it into Japanese. For me the exciting thing about the European Language Portfolio approach is that it offers a way of including oral tasks in the portfolio and generally gets students to focus on what they can do, and expand it. Here's the message from Fergus and PS from me:>> From: "Fergus O'Dwyer" <fodwyerj at gmail.com>> Date: Wednesday, January 28, 2009, 2:24 AM Just a quick email to confirm details about the seminar> planned for the weekend of March 14th & 15th. The seminar will tentatively consist of workshops, case studies and most importantly working on action plans (it is hoped the project teams will work together between now and mid-March on action plans with the seminar used to present and discuss the preliminary results of the action plans). If you have any suggestions for events at the seminar please contact me or better post on the forum at:> http://forums.jalt.org/index.php/topic,456.0.html> In regard to accommodation there will be a limited number> of rooms available onsite, details which will be made available in time. I look forward to hearing from you. >> Warmest Regards,> FergusPS me again... Unfortunately I'm going to be in England from 5th to 22nd but am following developments with much interest and look forward to being able to access those profiling tools in Japanese and English, with enthusiasm.
