Hi all,

For me, Autonomy in Language Education seems to incorporate more relevant
issues.

The low turnout may also be connected to the increasingly busy ELT calendar,
especially in Tokyo. Oct/Nov used to be 'conference' season when I joined JALT
in 2005. In the past few years, however, it seems that May/June and even July
have become a conference season, too!

Actually, I thought the regular time slot and 3 hours was fine, especially given
that it takes me over an hour to get there and I'm not really a fan of spending
more time commuting than being somewhere.

I like the idea of "More opportunities for presentations at meetings. Trial
presentations before conferences on research/teaching ideas.-- Break the
meeting into different interest sections. -- Seek a balance between exploring
practices and research."

As for the rest, ditto what Colin said. Good idea to have a one day conference,
find a nice venue and place for dinner: Pink Cow food it always good, but
depending on where we are, Cardenas Chinois is awesome, too:

Cheers,

Phil
