Bob Sanderson of Osaka JALT asks us to share our reflections prior to October
17th mini-conference...(of which details here:
http://osakajalt.squarespace.com/)
Please email submissions in English, Japanese, or any language to Bob  at
sanderson808 at hotmail.com , preferably by Friday, October 15th... more details
below.

Dear teachers,
This summer at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh I happened upon a collection
of one-page essays that were on display, written on the theme of "Home" by
people in the local community that had until quite recently been homeless. It
was quite moving and offered much food for thought.

I'd like to compile a similar collection, written by a variety of teachers on
the theme of how our learning experiences have affected and are affecting our
teaching practices. I'd like to display this collection at the JALT Moveable
Feast event that's coming up on October 17th in Osaka
http://osakajalt.squarespace.com/

I wonder if you or a teacher you know would be willing to submit a
short vignette to add to this collection. I'm looking for submissions from a
variety of teachers (not necessarily language teachers) as short as a single
sentence to a maximum of one page, single-spaced, related to what experience or
experiences as a learner have affected and are affecting your teaching.

I realize that people are busy, and that the Moveable Feast event is coming up
very soon, so obviously I don't expect this to be your best work ever and
understand if you don't have time to contribute something. I'm confident that
even the most casual responses will provide rich food for thought for all who
read them at the event on the 17th and for all who take the time to reflect and
contribute submissions as well. After the event I plan to share in PDF form all
contributions with all who make submissions. More submissions will be welcome by
participants at the event on the 17th.

Please email submissions in English, Japanese, or any language to me at
sanderson808 at hotmail.com , preferably by Friday, October 15th so I'll have time
to prepare hard copies for display at the event on the 17th. Please include your
name and teaching context, and a photo of yourself if you'd be willing to share
that as well.

Thanks, and best wishes!
Bob
