CCLT conferences are informal, discussion and reflection oriented, and a lot of fun. They offer opportunities for teachers and their students to take part and, if they want to, give poster/digital display presentations, as well as have conversations and discussions, about various issues to do with learner development.

History: CCLT1 took place in December 2014, followed by CCLT2 in December 2015, and CCLT3 in December 2016. We took a break in 2017, and CCLT4 then took place in December 2018. CCLT5 followed in December 2019.  CCLT6 and CCLT7 were held online. CCLT8 took place in December 2024. CCLT9 took place in November 2025.

Date for Your Diary: Sunday December 6 2026 for Creating Community Learning Together 10 (CCLT10)

Following on the success of CCLT9 last December (photos here), CCLT10 will be taking place on Sunday December 6 2026 at Chuo University Myogadani. You and your students are warmly invited to take part!

What is CCLT10? CCLT10 is a half-day face-to-face student-teacher conference with concurrent poster presentations of 45 minutes or so, with part of the event hybrid too. Students, teachers, learning advisors, and student-teacher teams from diverse learning contexts – classroom, online, blended, university, self-access, high school, language school, company classes, and so on – are all welcome.

Call for participation: Students present individually, in pairs, or small groups, and teachers are invited to showcase what they are doing in their practice or research related to learner development, presenting solo or with (a) student(s) to offer multiple perspectives. 

Potential themes include:

• inclusive classroom practices that support diverse learners
• creative ways to foster change, new understandings, and well-being
• student-led projects that connect classroom learning to real-world issues
• reflections on autonomy, voice, and identity in learning and learner development
• challenges in fostering learner agency and/or equitable access & participation,
• …. and much more.
